Single colour screenprint + holo glitter top coat on black Chromolux
Final size approx. 430mm x 750mm ( 17" x 30" )
Signed & numbered edition of 100
Well there is is, in all it's fan art glory. Four ink brands, one express courier, bag loads of holographic glitter, retarder, extender base, one sliver Posca & a busted squeegee later. Getting this over the line was a good distraction from the media autopsy we've had thrown at us over the weeks passed. Less shit talk, more moonwalk. COZ

For Tuck's Sake
The tuckpointing ( those thin white lines seen on Federation era brickwork ) on the Sandringham bound platform building is currently undergoing a complete do over. I can only assume it's a requirement of some form of heritage listing. From watching the guy doing the resto for over a week now, I can't see that a commercial body like Connex would pay for anything close to this kind of labour intensive work unless they had to, especially when it it something purely decorative. I'm sure we'd be shuffling in & out of concrete cardhouses if they could get away with it.
Whoever's footing the bill would be happy to know the guy's doing a bang up job, I had to switch platforms to check I wasn't seeing things when I first noticed the white lines appearing. Chalk ( or tuckpoint in this case ) this one up for the good guys.

Rantasaurus Rex - Rebrand / Downsize
Found this vid after a trip to Foodies. Shit is nerdy as hell but on point.
Over the last bunch of years the things I've either considered standards, grown up with or taken for granted have been slowly phased out, tweaked or outlawed. Shit, I'm not straight up against change ( yes we can ) but it's the motivation behind these 'improvements' that gets my goat. All this crap is owned by huge monolith corporations so yeah, they can do what the hell they want with it, but just don't bullshit me that it's for any reason other than squeezing more bucks out of the masses. I'm keeping track of all this junk so in 5 years time when I'm buying a 100g chocolate bar for for $10 I'll have proof that shit was better back in the day.
Off the top we've been witness to; the subtle rebranding of Vegemite & VB ( cue the drop shadows & gradients ) , no smoking inside pubs & bars ( but yes, this I've grown to like ), the 2am lockout shamozzle ( Rock Out Good, Lock Out Bad, anybody? ) which will no doubt raise it's ugly head again, extended times for paid parking in the city on Sundays, no free sauce at fish & chip shops, potato cakes are pushing 90 cents a pop, the Coke can top has gone all weird ( that said, Coke is one brand bucking the 'drop shadow+20 colour gradient blends = modern' trend. The new can is one colour print & looks rad. ) train & tram tickets go up yearly ( where the hell is that money going ), Pasito can rebrand ( picked up a slab of that shit pre-change. Blaow! ) , rent - fuck you, some crap about rennet in Mars products ( now scrapped ), this $2 per ATM transaction malarkey ( which was happening anyway behind the scenes, it's just now I actually have to approve it. "Do you want to continue with transaction?" Well, no, not really. ), the Cocca Pops monkey looks like shit, Esky went bust, Polaroid - belly up, The Tote was touch & go for a while there, blah blah blah. I could go on but whatever. Point being I'm all for change, it's when the motivation behind the change is driven by bottom lines & business models rather than the greater good that my Spidey sense starts to rocket. Aaah, Pasito. COZ

My Type of People
MMOP Open Day was grand. Rad turnout, with a collective world record set for number of macro close-ups of metal type shot in 4 hours. In a close second, Primitive Calculators killed it for the number of toddlers you can get dancing to the word "cunt". Cheers for the tea & tee... hope the day helps keep the whole shabang up & running. COZ

Scopitones!
A one word goldmine! Scopitones, the granddaddy of MTV. Starting off in France, this 'spectacular new entertainment medium' spread throughout Europe & the States during the 60's, showcasing all manner of campy goodness - in full-colour & full-sound! Bars, taverns, nite spots & nite clubs played host to these 16mm movie jukeboxes, giving punters access to a bevy of scintillating films, famous faces & swinging tunes, all at the drop of a few coins. Damn that's cool. COZ
